A Traditional Side Of Me

I almost forgot that I promised to post the traditional part of my wedding until a reader reminded me.

For my readers who do not know much about Nigeria wedding. This is how I incorporated Nigerian wedding styles. After the usual church wedding with the wedding gown, suit, bridesmaids and all that, we changed to traditional attires.
making an entrance after changing into the traditional attire

For my wedding, I picked two different african fabrics that blended with my purple & green theme--all my bridal train wore the fabric with more purple details, while my other friends wore the green fabric. Of course, the parents had their own separate fabric that they chose.
These are some of my bridesmaids in their traditional fabric and styles

Here are some of my friends in their own fabric & styles

Here, my mom and dad are wearing the same material, but my mom's friends had their own chosen fabric (pink with some purple details)

Also, my husband's families are all wearing the same fabric in different styles.

After partying until almost 2am on 5in heels and barely 4hrs of sleep the night before, I was ready for my bed--I surely had a blast ;)

Happy weekend everyone!
XOXO

As promised

Just like I promised, I was going to post more pictures from my wedding. Now that I have the professional pictures, I have so many pictures to share. First, these are some of the pictures from the ceremony and reception. Next week I will post some of the traditional version of the wedding. Hope you like it... :)
This is during our first dance. We danced to "I Can't Stop Loving You" by Kem, but the we added a twist of different songs from Soulja boy, to Nas to Psquare--a lot of people were surprised! :)
Doing the Soulja boy dance LOL!
The bridesmaids' dresses were made by tailor Kenia--each bridesmaid and I came up with a style that fit each personality and body shape.
I customized the flower girls dress @ Pegeen
This is part of the candy buffet section. Can't barely remember how many times I had to visit candy stores just to get the type and color of the candies that I wanted. My wonderful planner Briana @ Nouvelle set it up perfectly
love the cake...it was a mix of velvet cake, coconut, and french butter cream--the same people "Sugar Bakery" made my 21st birthday cake.

Thanks for all the wishes and sweet comments from the other post :)
love you all,
xoxo

After so long...

I feel like I have been gone forever--I needed time to recover from all the wedding plans. I hope to be back fully with blogging next week! I think i have had enough blogging withdrawals LOL!

Anyway, How is everyone doing? I have missed catching up with other blogs. I hope I didn't miss a lot ;) About the wedding, everything went perfectly. I couldn't ask for a better day--so much love & fun and there was hardly any dry eyes in the room including me :).

I don't have much pictures to show you guys, but I have copied some from friends who took pictures with their cameras.
Here are some pictures...

Unconventional bride

10 days away! I am in between happy and nervous, but also excited as everything is coming along great. I picked up my gown yesterday and I LOVE it. :)
I am trying to gather all the little things that I might need. It has been constant brainstorming, writing, shopping, and some tiring days--all for perfection huh!
Anyway, THANKS again for all your wishes and support.

love you all

Now, it's so near

Hello! Hello! Hello! I feel like I have been gone for too long. I had a good weekend, but extremely busy. As am typing, I am supposed to be fixing up my favor boxes--150 boxes to be precise.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. All that is on my minds is wedding runs; so, I have to just get back to my task ahead :-/

I wish everyone a wonderful week ahead. Thanks for all you sweet comments and wishes.

Bridal shower

I have been wanting to post this, but I have been so busy with work and all the planning. The day is fast approaching.
SURPRISE!!!!!!!!

Everyone were in the secret including my mom. She knew all about it 3months in advance--even when I was telling her that I felt like my bridesmaids are playing something. She will always tell me that she didn't know and that they will probably not tell her because she might tell me :)

What a fun day!

About this shower, I was beyond surprised, grateful, and felt so loved. I didn't see this coming even though I have been playing detective.

Anyway, to cut my sorry short, I had fun! THANKS again ladies xoxo
